同舟共济
龙舟缓缓驶近台北渔人码头。此时，码头西部淡水河河面上停满了划浆龙舟。
“台北市是台湾的政治、经济、文化、商业与传媒中心。台北是人情味极浓的‘不夜城’。”黄金书对着惠京笑了笑，“重情义热心肠让台北成为彰显儒家文化的体贴宜居之城。龙是中国的象征、中华民族的象征、中国文化的象征。赛龙舟是南方民间的一项水上体育娱乐活动，已流传两千多年，多是在喜庆节日举行。事不宜迟，我们现在就去享受赛龙舟的乐趣。”
“宣统号，舵手：莫克华、旗手和锣手：奥巴牛、鼓手：金溥聪，划手：李总理、蒙古国总统、韩国总统、朝鲜委员长、以色列总统、巴勒斯坦总统。和平号，舵手：毛主席、锣手……”莫克华正在为各号龙舟安排队员。
在队员们各就各位后，莫克华上了“宣统号”，为同舟队员鼓劲说：“我们都在同一条船上，一荣俱荣，一损俱损。发扬团队合作精神是取胜之道。”
发令枪“砰”的一声，比赛开始了。金溥聪挥动手中鼓棒击鼓，锣鼓声响起。淡水河上百舸争流千帆竞。
“和平号”，队员同心协力步调一致，充当着领头羊。“宣统号”上的队员各行其是，主力内讧，步调明显不一致，前行乏力。“中国梦号”赶超“宣统号”紧追“自由号”。“自由号”紧次于“和平号”。
“加油啊！宣统号。加油啊！宣统号。……”河岸上的观众在为“宣统号”鼓劲。
“中国梦号”已到了淡水河与基隆河的汇流处，而“宣统号”还在民权路河段缓慢蠕动，甚至停滞不前。
“尽管观众这些局外人给予我们莫大的鼓励，我们内部还是一盘散沙，无法同心同德。”莫克华恨铁不成钢，“我们都喊出声威来！”
“独裁、自由、自由、自由、独裁、自由……”的喊声不绝于耳。“宣统号”还是艰难前行。
眼看远远落后于“和平号”，奥巴牛灵机一动，提了个建议：“无法统一口号，我们将无法前进。少数服从多数。我们统一喊‘自由’这一口号。鼓手击鼓、划手喊‘自’字表示桨入水、拉水。锣手敲锣、划手喊‘由’字表示桨出水、移桨。”
“自”，“宣统号”上划手一致放桨入水，拉水；“由”，划手又一致抬桨出水，移桨。“自——由——自——由……”“宣统号”如一支离弦的箭般向前进。
被“宣统号”快速超越的龙舟传来嘲笑声：“咸鱼翻生！”
“中国梦号”误入基隆河，走了一段弯路，被“宣统号”抛得远远的。
过重阳大桥时，“宣统号”与“自由号”不分先后，但与“和平号”还有一段距离。过中山高速公路后，“宣统号”一举领先于“自由号”，直逼“和平号”。两岸观众打气声不绝于耳。过了台北大桥后，“和平号”与“宣统号”已经不分先后了。
“同事们，加油！胜利离我们不远了。”莫克华再鼓劲。
心跳时刻到了。“和平号”、“宣统号”冲过了龙山河滨公园终点线。两岸一片沸腾。结果是“和平号”、“宣统号”并列冠军，“自由号”为季军。颁奖仪式在中华民国总统府三楼的大礼堂举行。
“‘和平宣统’，好预头。”莫克华在为获奖队员颁发十字绣龙凤奖，“只有一个地球，人类应该同舟共济。”
In the Same Boat
The Dragon Boat edges down upon the Fisherman's Wharf in Taipei. To the west of the wharf, the oar-rowing dragon boats are floating over the Tamsui River.

Aboard UNS Peace, Chairman Mao as the helmsman, etc." Merkehe is allocating players for the dragon boats.
After everyone takes the place, Merkehe goes aboard UNS Declaring-unification, encourages the players, "We are in the same boat with the same result. The way of victory lies on one positive team awareness."
Phut at the sound of the pistol, the race begins. Pu-tsung King is waving the drumsticks onto the drum, and the sound of drums and gongs starts up. The boats on the Tamsui River are competing for the advancement.
The players aboard UNS Peace unite in a concerted action and lead as the bellwether. Each player aboard UNS Declaring-unification does what oneself thinks is right, cancels out the resultant force weakly to move the boat forward. UNS China-dream catches up with UNS Declaring-unification, goes after UNS Freedom. UNS Freedom goes after UNS Peace.
"Come on, UNS Declaring-unification, come on, UNS Declaring-unification, etc." Spectators on both sides are cheering UNS Declaring-unification up.
While UNS China-dream has arrived at the confluence of the Tamsui River and Keelung River, UNS Declaring-unification is crawling as if seems to be standing still in the section of Civil-rights Road.
"We are in a state of disunity out of one heart and one mind, although those outsiders such as the spectators express a great encouragement for us." Merkehe is exasperated as if fail to turn iron into steel, "Let us shout out a prestige."
"Autarchy", "Freedom", "Freedom", "Freedom", "Dictatorship", "Freedom", etc, reverberate nearby their ears. UNS Declaring-unification still moves on slowly.
As lags far behind UNS Peace, Obanew suddenly sees the light, advises, "No law to unify the slogan, no moving ahead we would. The minority is subordinate to the majority, so we unify the slogan to shout for Freedom. On the drummer a drumming and the hands a shouting for FREE, it means that oars enter the water, rowing. On the gong-striker a sounding the gong and the hands a shouting for DOM, it means that oars are lifted out of the water, moving."
"FREE!" the hands make the oars enter the water congruously, rowing. "DOM!" the hands make the oars lifted out of the water, moving. "FREE-DOM, FREE-DOM, etc." UNS Declaring-unification is moving forward like a flying arrow.
Here comes the jeering laughter from the boats just surpassed by UNS Declaring-unification, "The dead fish was revived!"
UNS China-dream goes astray to the Keelung River through a roundabout way at a far distance from UNS Declaring-unification.
On passing through Chongyang Bridge, UNS Declaring-unification is at the same line with UNS Freedom but at a distance from UNS Peace. After passing through the Sun Yat-sen Highway, UNS Declaring-unification is racing ahead of UNS Freedom, next to UNS Peace. Spectators on both sides keep expressing a great encouragement. After passing through Taipei Bridge, UNS Peace is racing with UNS Declaring-unification on an equal level.
"Come on, colleagues, the victory is not far away from us." Merkehe encourages them again.
To a heartbeat, UNS Peace and UNS Declaring-unification rush through the goal line at Longsheng Riverside Park. What an excitement on both sides! The result is the both win, and UNS Freedom is the third winner. The awarding ceremony is held at the Great Hall on the third floor of Presidential Office Building, Taipei.
"Peace-Declaring-Unification, starts with a good lead." Merkehe is awarding the winners the Dragon-phoenix Cross-stitch Prize, "For only the earth, mankind should row it up within each other as if in the same boat."
